The owners have worked diligently over the past 12 months to select, groom, and promote key staff members into more significant leadership roles within the company. At the same time, they have been shoring up their processes and organizational structure to be more supportive of these individuals. This was all done very intentionally, the goal being to reduce the business's reliance upon the owners in preparation for a sale. The owners stepping away would leave a small gap concerning some administrative items. They believe that the best way to fill this gap would be to hire an outside HR resource or perhaps a part-time administrative hire who would manage items like payroll, 401k census, group health insurance, etc. The necessary infrastructure for these items is already in place to support those functions (e.g., payroll company, bookkeeper, plan administrator, health insurance provider/broker, etc.).
