The Bristol Group is seeking professionals to become business brokers and join our nationwide network of affiliates. Business brokers assist business owners in preparing and selling their businesses. The need for well-trained professionals to work in this exciting career has never been greater.

How it works.

The Bristol Group will train you how to obtain clients, prepare business valuations, identify and qualify potential buyers, negotiate offers, manage due diligence, and drive a deal to the closing.

How you get paid.

Business brokers are paid a success fee, or commission, for successfully selling a business. Brokers may also earn fees for performing business valuations and consulting.

As an Affiliate of the Bristol you will receive all of the legal documentation, marketing materials, and administrative tools to manage your own business brokerage firm in your local market.

What you need to know.

To become part of the Bristol Group Brokers Network you will need to agree to the terms and conditions of the Affiliate Agreement.

Business brokers are paid a success fee, or commission, for successfully selling a business. Brokers may also earn fees for performing business valuations and consulting.

Commissions – Business Brokers charge 10% for businesses valued at less than $1,000,000.

Double Lehman commission is for Multi-Million dollar businesses and is calculated as follows:

  • 10% for the first $1 Million
  • 8% for the second $1 Million
  • 6% for the third $1 Million
  • 4% for the fourth $1 Million
  • 2% for everything after that

 

For example, if you broker a $3,000,000 business, your commission would be $240,000.

Retainers – Generally expected on larger deals. We typically charge $2,500 paid at the time of the engagement.

Consulting – This can be just about anything. You can get paid to facilitate mergers, improve financial performance, or restructure debt.

To become an affiliate of the Bristol Group you will need to agree to the terms and conditions of the Affiliate Agreement which are summarized below:

  • The Bristol Group Affiliate Network is not a franchise.
  • You are not an employee, agent, or independent contractor of the Bristol Group.
  • You own 100% of your own business brokerage firm.
  • You must comply with state licensing requirements. Most states require you have a real estate license.
  • The cost of becoming an affiliate is $29,900.
  • 10% of your commissions are shared with Bristol Group.
  • Initial term is for 1 year. Term is automatically extended after the initial term by paying the extension fee.

This map shows the number of businesses with less than $10,000,000 in annual sales. As an illustration, there are approximately 60,000 businesses in Idaho. Realistically the Bristol Group can only contact 7,000 or 8,000 a year. That means we are barely scratching the surface in a small state like Idaho. Chances are your market is much larger.
